CM Machinery has recently supplied a warehouse cutting machine to a UK flooring manufacturer. The machine is for producing customer length rolls from stock warehouse rolls.
The machine has an integral roll up-ending frame, which allows it to accept rolls loaded on their vertical axis from hand trolleys. This avoids the need for fork trucks or the like and is for ease of operation and safety in the machine area.
The machine feeds the product to length and uses a traversing twin blade cutting arrangement to make the cut. This is a robust arrangement, which gives a straight clean cut on a wide range of heavy products.
The machine uses laser length measuring technology for absolute accuracy of roll length. This allows the customer to have confidence in the length of their product rolls and avoids having to provide an over length amount for surety. This alone has the potential for a saving of up to 2% of total factory production per year.
CM designed and manufactured the machine to exact customer requirements at their manufacturing facility in Northern Ireland. The machine was installed and commissioned in the customers premises by CM Technicians.
