• Locates in line between decoiler and roll forming sections
• Provides facility to automatically splice on new metal coil end
• Shear cuts leading and trailing ends of the steel strip to prepare for joining
• Applies heavy duty adhesive tape above and below the steel strip to join the ends
• Consolidates the taped joint by passing through pneumatically loaded pressure rollers
