CM provides web accumulator unit to UK composites manufacturer

 

CM Machinery has recently supplied an in line web accumulator station to a UK composites manufacturer for use on one of their continuous coating lines.

The accumulator is to provide short term web storage capacity in order to give the operators of the line additional time for manual off load of finished rolls.

The previous roll off load arrangement was identified by the user as potentially hazardous, due to the web continuing to feed during the manual roll changeover.

The new arrangement allows the web to be stopped for this procedure, thus removing the hazard.

The station is designed specifically to meet the requirements of the application and to integrate with the existing equipment. The unit also has to fit within existing space constraints.

Path rollers are specially treated to minimise resin build up and for easy cleaning.

The accumulator unit is self contained within its own floor standing frame and guarded enclosure.

Controls for web tension level selection are provided

CM designed and manufactured the equipment at their factory in Craigavon.
