CM provides in line band saw to Canadian customer

CM provides in -line bandsaw to Canadian composite panel manufacturer

CM Machinery has just completed the manufacture of an in line travelling band saw unit for a Canadian Customer.

The machine is for installation on an existing metal clad insulated panel line. It is part of pre-planned upgrades to increase overall line efficiency and output by improving the versatility and reliability of the complete line.

It replaces an existing in line band saw cutter which had limited functionality and reliability issues.

The band saw operates to crosscut the panel at the output end of the line. It is self contained to follow the main laminator line speed. It has its own independent controls through which the operators can log in the cutting information to fill customers orders.

The machine is also suitable for linking up to a central factory production control system, whereby cutting information is downloaded remotely, without operator intervention.

The project involved CM developing a customised machine design to suit location alongside the existing equipment. The requirements for the integration of the electrical controls were also developed by CM Engineers. All manufacture was carried out at the Company's premises in Craigavon and CM personnel were involved in the mechanical installation and final integration of the machine controls at the customers site.
