CM supply new Double Band Saw

CM Machinery has recently supplied an In Line Double Bandsaw Crosscut Machine to a UK based supplier of structural steel insulation panels.  This equipment locates at the output end of a continuous production line and provides the facility to cut the insulated panel.

The machine crosscuts the insualtion panel using a fine toothed bandsaw blade.  This creates a good quality cut finish and the machine has the further capability to de-burr the cut edge, leaving a smooth and clean panel edge for future handling.

The ability to change bandsaw blades quickly and easily ensures cut quality is maintained.

The equipment can provide in line crosscutting capability on short insulation panels (1.1m) at constant line speeds.  This avoids secondary off line processing and reduces the opportunity for handling damage on the insulation panel surface.

Another feature is the facility to download cutting information direct from a computer based scheduling programme, which minimises the chance of re-logging errors by the operators.  The equipment was integrated into the customer insulation production line by CM Engineers.  It uses Siemens drives and PLC protocols and is fully communicable with the electric controls of the rest of the line for remote unmanned operation.
